What You’ll Do
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work directly with Autistic children and youth to support their growth and development through individualized service plans.
You’ll:
- Implement strategies and activities designed by a multidisciplinary team.
- Support children in developing communication, social, behavioural, cognitive, motor, and daily living skills.
- Build positive, meaningful relationships with children and families.
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Analysts (BCBAs), and other professionals.
- Track progress and communicate observations with the team.
- Help create engaging, supportive, and neuroaffirming learning environments.

Flexible Hours
We understand student schedules can be busy.
- Work between 4 and 20 hours per week
- Individual sessions are typically 2 hours long
- Opportunities for back-to-back sessions
- Most sessions occur:
- After school/Evenings/Weekends
This flexibility makes the role ideal for university and college students.
What We’re Looking For:
Required Qualifications
- Currently completing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Psychology, Education or Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation, or Early Childhood Development
- Minimum 6 months of experience working or volunteering with children or youth
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for supporting Autistic children, youth, and their families
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs of each child and family
- Access to reliable transportation
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Experience working with Autistic and/or neurodivergent individuals is considered a strong asset
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidates must provide:
- Clear Police Information Check
- Clear Intervention Record Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
