PUF – Speech-Language Pathologist (10 month contract, 0.8 FTE | Calgary)

Centre for Autism Services Alberta is growing! We are looking for a PUF – Speech-Language Pathologist Position for Edmonton.

Position:

This is a part-time position, 10 month contract.

The Centre for Autism Services Alberta (CFASA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children, teens, and young adults with autism. Established in 1997, CFASA has grown to offer a wide range of services to autistic individuals and their families and is the only accredited autism service provider in Alberta. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and innovative supports and services to those affected by autism.

As the Speech-Language Pathologist, you will develop, plan and implement communication programs in the classroom. You will address speech, social communication, language, and play skills, providing both individual and group interventions. Additional, you will contribute to the training of staff, families and community members.

Responsibilities:

  • Registered Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Member of Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
  • Knowledge of Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI) and other autism-specific strategies (preferred).
  • Experience providing consultation in various settings (home, community, school).
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Crisis assessment and intervention skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Clean criminal record and child welfare checks.
  • Valid certification in Child and Infant CPR and First Aid.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and registered with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective organizational, decision-making, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current professional liability insurance
  • Clean Criminal Record Check (reimbursed by CFASA)
  • Clean Child Intervention Check (reimbursed by CFASA)
  • Valid certification in Child and Infant CPR and First Aid (reimbursed by CFASA)

 

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $43.38 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
