Professional Consultation Services (PCS) are for individuals with autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities of any age, who are looking for support to enhance and enrich their lives. Through a collaborative partnership and person-centered service, our team can support you in many different areas of your life including:
- Emotional or behavioural regulation (e.g., relaxation strategies, managing stress)
- Communication (e.g., expressing your wants and needs, understanding information)
- Executive functioning (e.g., planning and organization, problem-solving, time management)
- Motor skills (e.g., climbing, jumping, writing)
- Activities of daily living (e.g., eating, dressing, using the bathroom)
and more!
Professional Consultation Services can be funded through individual or group health benefit plans, eligible government funding (e.g., Jordan’s principle), or private pay. Direct billing may be available to certain insurance companies. The PCS team will work with you to determine the right amount of supports to fit with your goals, availability, and budget.
The PCS team will work with you, your child/youth, and/or your family to develop an individualized plan that focuses on your goals and priorities, using a positive, inclusive approach that respects neurodiversity, cultures, unique experiences, and other overlapping and intersectional identities. Your team can work with you in-person (Greater Edmonton Area) at your home, in the community, in other settings that are meaningful to you, or virtually via secure video call (anywhere across Alberta). Our evidence-based approaches are holistic, individualized, and co-created with you, to promote engagement, learning, and wellbeing.
