Ages 15 to 64

 

 

The service supports individuals with disabilities who are ready to work and actively looking for employment. This service focuses on finding a job, entering the workforce, and maintaining long-term employment success.

Participants work closely with staff up to 12 months to build a clear plan focused on workforce participation and meaningful employment.

 

What the Service Offers

EmploymentWorks is designed to provide individualized support throughout the job search and early employment journey.

Participants will:

  • Work collaboratively with staff to develop a structured employment plan
  • Meet one-on-one with staff regularly for personalized guidance and coaching
  • Participate in active job search activities
  • Receive support navigating the hiring process
  • Continue receiving guidance after starting a job to help build confidence and workplace stability

 

Ongoing Support After Employment 

Support doesn’t end once a job is secured.

When participants begin working, EmploymentWorks continues to provide guidance and coaching to help individuals:

  • Adjust to their new role
  • Navigate workplace expectations
  • Build confidence in the workplace
  • Maintain long-term employment success

 

Who This Service Is For

EmploymentWorks is designed for adults who:

  • Idenitify as Autistic or having a disability
  • Are ready, willing and capable of working (based on Employment Insurance Program Definitions)
  • Are actively looking for employment
  • Want support navigating the job search process
  • Would benefit from individualized employment coaching

 

Eligibility Requirements for EmploymentWorks

  • Over the age of 15 years old
  • Self-identifies as Autistic or having a disability
  • Not eligible for/receiving PDD
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Requires and wants assistance to prepare for, obtain and keep employment or self-employment
  • Has access to reliable transportation
  • Has a Social Insurance Number (to access funding)
  • Note: This service is best suited to individuals who have conversational communication skills and basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities (Grade 6 level)
